What to expect from the Chain Reaction experience
Putting, driving, and strategy
So what can participants expect? A brief summary of the history of disc golf, informative and not at all boring summary of the elements of disc golf instruction but not limited to: Putting, driving and the mental game that speaks to the actual strategy of golf. They’re all equally important because as we like to say, “You drive for show and you putt for dough.”
We begin by letting everyone attempt several putts from 30 feet, with a scorecard to reference and track your progress throughout the day. Next, everyone makes several drives, and we record your initial stats. Then, we teach you the physics of throwing the disc, ex. how to put spin on the disc and other pro tips. We even have a snazzy radar gun to track your throwing speed! Finally, we revisit putting and driving once more so participants can see how much they’ve grown in such a short span of time. Congrats! You’re an official disc golfer now!
But wait…I have more questions.
That’s a wrap!
At the end of the session, everyone receives a custom Chain Reaction disc to take home to help facilitate continued learning and play. We hope you choose to stick with it!

About our Founder, Travis Flett
Travis is a professional disc golfer, active in the sport since 1990. He played his first PDGA event in 1998, and has since competed in over 120 PDGA sanctioned tournaments with 13 PDGA wins.
In his former career, spanning 17 years in sales and marketing with New Belgium Brewing as a beer ranger, he implemented “Putting for Pints” in the early 2000s, curating cutting-edge, outside events that influenced a company wide promotion of disc golf. This experiential component morphed into a massive cornerstone for the company that other beer rangers integrated with their customers, proving to be a great social activity and adding immense value to their accounts. This experience translates seamlessly into his understanding of how to build and maintain positive rapport, create engagement within the community and how to support company morale.
As a Colorado Springs resident, Travis has been an active member of the community since 2007, raising two children that attended Manitou High School in neighboring mountain town, Manitou Springs. Travis considers himself an outdoorsy guy who celebrates being active as an avid mountain biker and gym rat. His affinity for exercise and being outside leans into his love for disc golf, as most courses average approximately 7 miles of hiking terrain. Staying healthy is a priority for Travis and disc golf has proven to be an extension of his love for movement and outdoor recreation. He touts the minimal investment and incredible health benefits and hopes to share these positive components with more to-be disc golfers nationwide.
Travis is currently on the PDGA tour, competing in major tournaments for over the last year and half. While he has been out on the road pursuing his passion, he is strategizing his goals for this next chapter as the founder of Chain Reaction.
